If you've never been on a video set before it might be hard to picture what it will be like, but it may put you at ease to know that every Keyy Productions shoot is planned and set up so that you feel comfortable, relaxed and confident. Here are a few things you can expect on set.

BEFORE THE SHOOT DAY

Before the shoot day, your dedicated Creative Producer will send you all of the production details to approve and so that you are completely familiar with the plan before you step onto set.

Most of our shoots are a half or a full day in length, and will be led by your expert two-person production team of a Creative Producer + a videographer or photographer.

ON SET

OK. The big day is here! Don't be nervous. The Keyy Productions team will be there every step of the way to guide you through this exciting stage of the video production process. Here's what to expect for the shoot day.

THE SHOOT SET-UP

Your Creative Producer will take care of leading everyone on set and running the shoot to keep things on schedule, while the videographer or photographer will take care of the visual aspects of the shoot.

A lot of our shoots have two clear parts - interviews and the supporting visuals or 'B-roll'. For a video interview, we’ll set up two cameras on tripods, as well as some lights and a microphone nearby. Our Creative Producer will conduct the interview, sitting beside the main camera.

ON-CAMERA INTERVIEWS

We’ve created a specialised on-camera interview technique to ensure our clients feel calm, comfortable and confident, and it may please you to hear that we're often told that being on camera with us is much more natural and enjoyable than expected! We keep our interviews really relaxed and conversational. The best thing to remember is that it’s not live - stumbles and mistakes are all a part of the process, and we leave it to the magic of editing to piece the interview together into an authentic and engaging narrative.

When capturing visual footage for your project, our creative team will guide you through each part of the process. If you or your team are on camera, we’ll direct you through these moments to ensure that they feel natural and that you feel comfortable.

If you're still feeling a little nervous to be on camera, you can find some great tips on our blog "How To Overcome Camera Shyness".

ADDITIONAL FOOTAGE OR 'B-ROLL'

Depending on your video project, we may get additional footage also known as 'B-roll'. This involves our videographer capturing candid moments of your team, your customers, or your environment to add more dynamism and context to your content. This will have already been discussed and planned out with you during our pre-production process so you'll already know exactly what we'll be capturing on the day, who and what needs to be prepared, and at what stage in the shoot schedule we plan on filming those additional moments.

AN ENJOYABLE ON SET EXPERIENCE

So no matter what kind of project it is that we’re creating for you, you can rest assured that being on set with us will be calm, efficient and very enjoyable! If you do have any questions though, please feel free to reach out to your dedicated Producer at any time, and we look forward to seeing you on set soon!
